While visiting the Snow House, plan to spend a few extra hours seeing the sights and hearing the sounds of an era long since passed.  If it's Spring, ask any of the Franklin Merchants for a free copy of the Walking Tour of Franklin.  Written and edited by long time merchants in Franklin, this tour begins at the Franklin Cider Mill and takes the visitor to the Franklin Cemetery and back.  Along the way, you will see lovely shops located in historic buildings dating back to the 1840's.  Stop in at the Franklin Village Tea Room for a cup of tea in one of the most genteel settings around.  Visit the Franklin Village Boutique where seasonal sweaters and jackets are aplenty!  If you meander across the street, stop in at Déjà vu, an upscale ladies consignment shop with a host of clothes and accessories.  Next door is a wonderful shop called Escapades, where anyone can find a gift for themselves or someone else!  If a hearty lunch or dinner is what you're looking for, look no further because the Franklin Grille is noted for it's sumptuous salads, sandwiches and the "best hamburger in the State of Michigan", according to the Franklin Merchants Association.

If you happen to visit during the summer months, in addition to the previous ideas for exploring, check out the Franklin Library and the Children's Summer Reading Program.  Also, Music on the Green during the month of July,  is a free outdoor concert with live music and dancing for people of all ages.  Stop by the Market Basket and buy a sandwich, bring a lawn chair to the Village Green and let the music begin!  An evening the whole family can enjoy!  Check it out!

And of course, Autumn in Franklin, means a visit to the Franklin Cider Mill, where you'll find the best cider in the world!  Bring the children to see the actual operation of the apple smasher gently separating the juice from the core.  Kids love the activity and enjoy the cider even more!  Apples from around the State, Wisconsin cheese, apple pies and Barry's own fabulous hot, cinnamon donuts!  Buy them by the bag and the cider by the gallon!

With the Holidays just around the corner, the Annual Holly Days celebration boasts the most beautiful time of the year!  With the snow gently falling, the twinkle of the Christmas lights are everywhere you look in Franklin.  Shop windows are adorned with lights and beautiful merchandise, wreaths are hung out with beautiful bows as the Historical Society begins to roast  chestnuts on an open fire.  The carolers will sing throughout the day, and gather round for the lighting of the Christmas Tree at dusk.  The House Tours are a spectacular sight to see, with each homeowner highlighting their special interest or collectible.

We look forward to seeing you at the Historic Snow House, but don't  forget to spend some extra time visiting the "Town That Time Forgot".
